Christmas
arrived early for the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company. Last week new bay
doors were installed on our station. The new doors are insulated and have
tinted, thermal pane glass that are energy efficient and will reduce our heat
loss. The old doors were not insulated, were slow to rise due to weight, and
had a significant loss of heat during the winter months.
Our new doors
cost approximately $18,000 for the entire re-fit. This included new opener
motors, all new tracks, and of course the doors. The Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire
Company Ladies Auxiliary paid for 95% of the cost! We are grateful to our Auxiliary
and all they do for the fire company. It is teamwork such as this that makes
our department a great place to volunteer.
