Accident on Mt. Airy Road

     

Tuesday, September 7, 2010 At approximately 7:30pm Shrewsbury Volunteers were dispatched to a reported accident with injuries on Mount Airy Road in Shrewsbury Township.  Initial reports from York County 911 was a two vehicle accident with injuries.  Rescue 61 responded with 4 personnel on board.  On arrival Asst. Chief Cadden (Chief 61-1) assumed Command 61 and confirmed a two vehicle accident. 

Crews established a safe zone to work in and investigation of the incident revealed there was one injury and one refusal.  Station 61 personnel began BLS care of the injured patient until the arrival of Rose EMS from New Freedom.  Once the ambulance arrived the patient was removed from the vehicle on a long back board and placed into Ambulance 58.  The patient was transported to York Hosptial.  Station 61 equipment was placed in service by Command 61 and returned to station.
