At 2028 hours this evening, the Shrewsbury Volunteers were dispatched to assist Stewartstown (Station 54) with a chimney fire. Engine 61-2 responded with a crew of 6 to the Clark Road address in Hopewell Township.
As the first arriving engine, the crew from 61 laddered the roof and investigated the extent of the fire. Shrewsbury crew worked closely with Station 54 crews to remove the debris from the chimney and make sure there was no spread of the fire.
Units operated on scene for about 45 minutes.
